Krabi has it own culture and tradition. In June and November every year, the Long Lue Chao Le festival is performed to get rid of bad luck by putting the nails, hairs and an offering in Chao Le boats. This is similar to the Loy Kra Tong festival observed elsewhere in the country.
61.61% are Buddhist 37.52% Muslim, 0.61% Christian and 0.25% other.
Sea gypsies, known as Chao Le, inhabit many islands and beaches in Krabi province. They have their own language and have animistic beliefs. They earn their living by catching fish and selling souvenirs such as decorated-shells to the tourists.
The population of Krabi is predominantly Buddist (61.6%) with a large minoriy of Muslim (37.52%).
